What does this prove?
A match means the content you supplied produces exactly the hash that was recorded. It confirms correspondence with the recorded hash. It does not confirm that the content is true or correct, which agent or organisation made it, that it was authorised, or that the recipient received it. The record is created by the sender.
Files are compared by the SHA-256 of their exact bytes. JSON events are compared after RFC 8785 canonicalization, so formatting and key order do not matter, but every value does.
Arweave anchoring is a separate fact about the record. A record can be anchored while the content you supplied does not match it.
