Beta Terms of Use
Version 1 · effective date: 25 October 2026
- Who we are. ClearedBadge is a service of Cubes BV, Amerikalei 209 bus GLV, 2000 Antwerpen, Belgium, enterprise number 0841.104.618, RPR Antwerpen, afdeling Antwerpen ("we"). Contact: info@clrbadge.com.
- What ClearedBadge does.
- It records a fingerprint (SHA-256) of a file or a JSON event, together with the time. Anyone with the original content can then check it against the record.
- What a record does and does not show is explained in What a record proves, which forms part of these terms.
- How your data is handled is explained in the Privacy Policy.
- Accepting these terms.
- These terms apply to your use of ClearedBadge. By creating a record on the website, using our API, or signing in for the AI connector, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
- A link to these terms is shown next to the Create record button, in the API documentation, and on the sign-in page of the AI connector.
- AI agents. An AI agent that uses ClearedBadge for you does so under your account and these terms. You are responsible for what it registers.
- Versions. We keep every version of these terms with its date. The version in force at the moment you use the service applies.
- A free, public and limited beta.
- The beta is meant for evaluation. It is not designed or promised for business-critical use, and we do not promise any level of availability.
- The service may change, pause or stop.
- The beta is free of charge. If we ever introduce paid plans, we will announce them on this page at least 30 days in advance. Nothing used during the beta will be charged retroactively.
- Accounts and limits.
- Registering through an AI agent requires a sign-in; one account per person.
- Each account has a small, fixed total registration quota; every receipt shows it. Verifying does not use the quota.
- Website registrations without an account are limited per network and per day.
- We may limit how many new accounts can be created.
- Your content.
- Register only content you are entitled to use.
- Do not register secrets (passwords, keys, tokens), or personal data you may not share with a third-party service.
- Confidential, medical or legal documents may be registered. For those, prefer the Private method, so the file is not sent to us. JSON events through an AI agent are always processed on our servers.
- Keep the original content yourself: we store the cryptographic fingerprint and limited registration metadata, not the original content, and cannot give the content back. Without it, a record cannot be verified.
- Not allowed.
- unlawful content or purposes;
- getting around limits, quotas or access controls, for example with several accounts;
- automated mass registration;
- interfering with the service or with other users.
- Records.
- The core fields of a record — its record ID, its fingerprint and the time it was registered — are not changed, so that others can keep verifying it. Its anchoring status is kept separately and changes as anchoring progresses.
- Records stay verifiable after an account is closed or suspended. They are erased only where the law requires it (see the Privacy Policy).
- What was already published on Arweave cannot be deleted by us.
- Suspension. We may refuse, limit or withdraw access if you break these terms, or where that is needed to protect the service or others. Where we can, we tell you why.
- Liability.
- A free, experimental service. We provide the beta with reasonable care, as a best-effort obligation. We do not guarantee that it is available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose, or that a record will be accepted as evidence. What a record does and does not show is set out in What a record proves.
- Only for light negligence, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for: (a) indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit, lost data, lost opportunities or damage to reputation; (b) loss caused by the service being unavailable, interrupted or slow; (c) loss of your original content, which we do not keep; (d) decisions based on a record for more than it shows; (e) loss caused by your input, your device or AI agent, or services we do not control (such as your AI provider, the sign-in provider or the internet); (f) events beyond our reasonable control.
- Cap. To the extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate contractual liability to each user, for all claims arising from or relating to that user's use of the free beta, does not exceed EUR 500 in total during the beta period.
- This is a maximum, not a compensation. You must still show that we are liable, what you lost, and that our failure caused it.
- The cap also applies, to the extent the law allows, if you base such a claim on extra-contractual liability.
- One user, one cap.
- "User" means the person who accepted these terms, or the organisation that person accepted them for.
- All agents, integrations and requests used under that user's account count as that one user.
- Claims that arise from the same event, or from connected events, count as one claim under the cap.
- Beta period. From your first use of the service until the end of the beta, announced as described in section 11.
- What these limits do not cover.
- The exclusions and the cap concern claims between you and us. They do not limit fines or orders of public authorities, nor claims by people who are not a party to these terms. They do not limit any liability that the law places personally on anyone.
- To the extent the law allows them to, our directors, employees and subcontractors may rely on the same exclusions and cap.
- Never limited. Intent, fraud or gross negligence; death or personal injury; the non-performance of an essential obligation, where the law forbids limiting it; the mandatory rights of consumers; and any other liability that the law does not allow to be limited or excluded.
- Ending.
- You can stop at any time and ask us to close your account (see the Privacy Policy).
- We may end the beta. If we do, we aim to tell you at least 30 days in advance what happens to verification of existing records.
- We may interrupt or end the service, in whole or in part, without that notice where this is necessary for security, legal or serious operational reasons. In that case we inform you as soon as we reasonably can.
- Changes. We announce changes to these terms on this page before they apply. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new terms.
- Law and courts.
- Belgian law applies, and the courts of Antwerp, Antwerp division, have jurisdiction.
- If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may also bring a case there.
